Gary Tassell joined Wood Group in February 2008 as Projects Manager for Asia Pacific based in Perth, Australia. He was appointed to work on building business in Australia which is a key growth for Wood Group and support other businesses in Asia Pacific.
In late October 2008, Gary was tasked to carry out an operational excellence review of the Brunei operation. Subsequent level 3 improvement plan was implemented as a result of the review to address immediate operational needs to form the framework of level 2 continuous improvement plan. Further support visits occurred over the next 3-4 months in order to push through these improvements.
In March 2009, Gary was officially appointed the General Manager for SKSWood with an ambition to create a workplace where people can enjoy a safe and healthy environment. His aspiration also includes delivery of campaigns to the client in alignment with the external KPIs, development of implementation of Strategic Delivery Aim (SDA) for Brunei business unit in 2009 and the implementation of Lean into the Business unit.
He also aims to have open dialogue relationships with client, SKSW personnel, service providers and business development, be forward thinking and proactive before problem become an issue.
He looks forward to promote SKSWood to be a contractor of choice through delivery of a safe, value adding and execution of contracted responsibilities. He would also like to create an environment where people are happy and proud to be working for SKSWood and feel their importance in delivery of the Company’s objectives. Create an open and honest ethical culture where people comments are valued. Adoption of business excellence framework to set the benchmark standard of contract deliveries.
