16th - 17th March 2009, Monday & Tuesday - With the amount of workload coming up, SKSWood has, for the first time, taken to hiring a large pool of locals directly. The work will be for offshore deployment after their training and other processes onshore. This is the initial group, with more of such direct hires expected in the near future in accordance to the works anticipated.
The interviews of over 40 potentials took 2 days, which was held at the Pejabat Kerajaan Pekerja (Government Labour Department), Kuala Belait. Present to carry out the interviews were Johfery Bin Haji Sabtu, Salih Hj. Adol (Labour Officers, Government Labour Dept.), Frankie Ong (SKSWood Manpower Services Coordinator), Junaidah Hj. Daud (SKSWood Immigration Officer) and Zulazmi (SKSWood Logistics Assist). Other government officials who were involved in the process were Siti Isah Hj. Abd. Kadir (Labour Officer), Sarimah Aris (Employment Clerk) and Bakri Mat Said (Senior Labour Officer, Employment Centre).
Signing and confirmation of employment will take place at a later date, after the applicants have been deliberated and filtered by SKSWood’s Human Resources department.
This is a significant procedure being that it is the first time that the organization will fulfill its Bruneianisation commitment over 5 fold of its average local recruitment since setup in 2003. In accordance with the Bruneianisation program, SKSWood takes in an average of 6 local graduates as work attachments for 6 months annually.
