Following the Bruneianisation program, SKSWood has been successful in consistently enrolling on average of 6 local graduates in its annual attachment program. The program sees the enrolled personnel through six months of hands on work experience, taking them through the various processes involved in their chosen departments.
Among those who have recently completed their attachments with the company are Mohd. Nazirul Bin Amir Hamzah, a local graduate from Sultan Bolkiah Vocational School; and Ak Muhammad Zainol Ariffin Pg Ibnu. Both attachments were enrolled with assistance from the Sultan Bolkiah Vocational School and were assigned under industrial attachment for NTC3 (Natiional Trade Certificate) in welding and fabrication. NTC is part of a system to identify what grade or qualification the candidate possesses which is an indicator to their skill. For this particular discipline, Alex Sarte (Fabrication Coordinator, Materials Handling Department) acted as supervisor and mentor to the program.
The program aims to help boost and nurture interest of exploring stable, long term oil and gas sector careers among the local youths. The attachment program is often segregated and stretched throughout the year. Hence, different periods of work attachment intakes.
